They are more for large area work vs. working a small detailed area. So although they resemble toothbrushes keep in mind they are much bigger. This wire brush set is cheap, but the brushes have a lot of bristles. Other cheap brushes I've bought only had an inch or two of bristles (not much more than a toothbrush), but these have a good 4 inches or so of bristles.
